FAQs

  • Our first session is about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, your goals, and any questions you may have. For children or teens, I usually meet with the parent or caregiver first to gather background info. There’s no pressure — it’s a space for you to feel heard and understood.

  • Sessions are typically 50-55 minutes, once a week to start. We can adjust the frequency depending on your needs and goals.

  • I get this question often, and it’s a fair one! While it may look like we’re “just playing,” play is actually the language children use to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through play therapy, I’m building connection, teaching emotional regulation, helping your child process hard things, and working through behaviors, all in a way that makes sense to their brain and nervous system.

Every activity is intentional, backed by research, and guided by your child’s needs. And don’t worry, you’ll be included along the way with regular parent check-ins, tools to use at home, and updates on progress.

  • I offer both in-person and virtual therapy. In-person sessions are available in the Richmond area, and virtual sessions are available across Texas. Children sessions are only held in the office. Ages 15+ can opt for virtual sessions.

  • Yes! Parent involvement is an important part of my work with children and teens. Depending on the child’s age and needs, we’ll have scheduled check-ins to share tools, progress, and ways you can support them at home.

  • I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows will be charged $75. I understand that life happens, so I offer all my clients one freebie for either late cancel or no show.

  • If you or a loved one are in danger or need immediate support, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. You can also call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

  • You’re welcome to reach out via email or your client portal with quick questions, if you have scheduling needs you can call, email or text. However, therapy support happens during sessions. For urgent issues, please use emergency resources.
