Our Approaches
-
Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate approach for children ages 3–12. It is based on the understanding that play is the natural language of children, and toys are their words. In play therapy, children are given a safe and supportive space to express thoughts, feelings, and experiences they may not be able to verbalize. Through this process, children can process emotions, build problem-solving skills, improve self-esteem, and strengthen emotional regulation.
-
Sand tray therapy is a powerful, nonverbal therapeutic technique used with children, teens, and adults. Using miniature figures and objects placed in a tray of sand, clients create visual representations of their inner world. This process can help uncover deep emotions, traumatic experiences, and unresolved conflicts. It allows clients to explore and process their thoughts safely and symbolically, often leading to insight, healing, and personal growth.
-
ItemExpressive arts in therapy involve the use of creative tools—like drawing, painting, movement, storytelling, music, or sand tray—to help clients explore emotions, process experiences, and promote healing. These approaches don’t require artistic skill and are especially helpful when words aren’t enough or are hard to find. Through creative expression, children, teens, and even adults can discover new ways to understand themselves, build coping skills, and feel empowered in their healing journey.
-
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy used to help people recover from trauma, anxiety, and negative self-beliefs. It uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to help the brain reprocess distressing memories so they are no longer overwhelming. EMDR is helpful for clients of all ages and can be integrated into talk therapy or play-based sessions depending on developmental level.

CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier coping strategies. CBT is effective for treating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and more. It empowers clients to take an active role in understanding and reshaping their inner world.
-
DBT helps individuals who experience intense emotions or struggle with emotional regulation. It combines acceptance and change strategies and teaches practical skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT is especially helpful for teens and young adults navigating relationships, identity, and emotional intensity
